Attendees also can gain tips on interviewing skills. Dinner is provided, and all students who RSVP will be entered for a chance to win a free laptop. Scholly Night is another way that RMC Foundation collaborates with other businesses to invest in the future of students in the community. The Martha Vandervoort Memorial Scholarship awards a renewable $6,000 scholarship each year to a Calhoun County high school student to assist with college education costs. Recipients must have financial need and demonstrate leadership, academic promise, strong character and community involvement. Three scholars now attend Auburn University, Jacksonville State University and Spelman College in Atlanta. “It is a blessing to be part of these students’ lives and see how they grow as they continue to serve their communities and work toward achieving their academic degrees,” says Lagina Fillingim, RMC Foundation’s executive director.
