Trish Ballard, MSN, RN, serves as pro-
gram evaluator for Genesis. “We use
a unique, holistic and multidisciplinary
approach to engage and stabilize
patients, implementing treatment
plans that maximize cognitive and
emotional functioning,” she says.
“Treatment integrates behavioral
interventions, therapeutic treat-
ments, medication evaluation and
management, and more in order to
improve longevity and quality of life.”

Reclaiming their lives
The Genesis Senior Emotional
Care (SEC) program, an inpatient
program at Regional Medical Center
(RMC) Jacksonville, is dedicated to
treating older individuals who may
experience serious behavioral or
emotional problems. An experienced
team of medical doctors, psychiatrists,
nurses, an activity coordinator and
social workers delivers personalized,
customized and compassionate
treatment and care for senior adult
patients. The goal is to help each
patient return to an optimal level of
functioning, regardless of his or her
emotional or behavioral health issue.
